Musical Update

I mentioned it a while ago. I was super super excited about it a while ago and I thought I should update y'all.  (  ...  )

Term Two started and with it, the realisation that the Musical is nearing quickly. As we start week 5. We now have only 3 weeks to go.

Please excuse me while I go faint because I only just realised that.

Overall. I think we're going okay. We're getting through it but 3 weeks isn't a long time. But our principles are amazing (some of the other cast members are not).
And, of course, we know all of our lines, songs, choreography and blocking. (As well as everyone else's) But does everyone. No. We ran through one of the big group numbers, telephone hour, with all the people who are in it. And it was worrying. Watching them. Half of them didn't what group they were in, or what part they were singing or their harmony line. But I'm staying optimistic. They have time to work that out. But to be fair. A lot of time has already gone into that number. And we still have 1 or 2 scenes that haven't even been looked at yet. But they're principle scenes so we'll all be okay. Hopefully.

Overall. Everyone's stressing. Half of us have colds and the other half don't turn up to rehearsals. Just kidding! There's only about 5 sick principles. Yay!

On the plus side, I might be singing, off stage, as a boy, in Telephone Hour. Which is going to be fun. Although it might be weird seeing 3-4 guys singing with the voice of 8 people. Either way.

Think happy thought. 3 WEEKS! This time, in 3 weeks, I'll be crazily preparing for a week of shows. AGH! Stressful times. Anyway, if your in the area, you should come. And it's the RTHS show (because another nearby school is also doing, I'm going to see that the night of our matinee. ;)

Happy Friday.

City of Heavenly Fangirl (Reviewsday Tueaday)

This is the only thing on my mind at the moment. Sorry.

MAJOR SPOLIERS AHEAD!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! ENTER AT OWN RISK!

SPOILERS FROM THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS AND THE INFERNAL DEVIES SERIES AND OTHERS FROM CoHF THAT I'VE SEEN FLOATING AROUND THE INTERNET!!

So...

City of Heavenly Fire comes out TODAY!!! Well it's the 27th but when I preordered it, it said the 28th. Either way. I HAVEN'T READ IT YET!!!

I pre-ordered it a few weeks ago and I'm patiently (yeah right) waiting for it to automatically download onto my Kindle.

So today I want to address some things that, I think, need to be resolved in CoHF. And probably will since its the last TMI book. But if its anything like TID, the upcoming series, TDA, will tie in with everything else. Maybe. Or perhaps it will tie in with TLH (another series to be published. This lady keeps busy.) But onto meeting my inner fangirl.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

1. Malec. The only people I've really ever "shipped". That probably sounds weird because they're a gay couple but (fangirl initiate) they're just so perfect together.

When they broke up at the end if CoLS, I was on holidays and I was reading before I went to bed and I had tears in my eyes and I just kept playing the scene I've and over in my head before I went for sleep. Agh! But that's something that needs to be fixed and I've seen snippets out if CoHF and I think they're getting somewhere. I also read this thing on Pintrest saying that Magnus gave his immortality to Izzy so he could be with Simon. I don't know if it's real or not and I swear, if that happens... I don't know if I'd be happy or not. Because, that leads into my next point.

2. JEM AND TESSA ARE IN IT!! If you haven't read The Infernal Devices and are waiting for CoHF to come out, STOP! Go and read The Infernal Devices then come back. Because I think there's going to be stuff you need to know. Oh, and can someone PLEASE explain to me the end of Clockwork Princess. Where they're on the bridge (which I ADORABLE!) and Jem isn't a silent brother anymore? Is it after CoHF? Or does he become a Silent Brother again?! I'M SO CONFUSED! And I'm not sure if I want Jem and TESSA to be together... I loved them together at the start but then he left her and Will. And became a Silent Brother and everything happened and I didn't like him as much anymore. Plus in the epilogue, recounting Tessa's life up until then. All her friends dying and having kids and grand kids and then leaving them and Will. That was upsetting.

3. SIX CHARACTERS WE KNOW BY NAME WILL DIE!! All I can say is that Sebastion better be one of them. Yes, I still call him Sebastion. I know he's technically Jonathon but Sebastion is easier and less confusing. But I don't know how I feel about characters dying. And I suppose they could be characters I don't really care for like Raphael or Cammile but that still leaves three. And I guess it kind of annoys me now, knowing that 6 WILL die. Although I can kind of prepare myself for reading on the bus. Kinda. Probably not. Which leads me into...

4. Simon's Sacrifice. One of the chapters is called Simon's Sacrifice and at first I thought, "He might have to give up the mark of Cain." Then I remembered that he already gave that up. So now I'm worried again. He can't die. He can't. At least, I'm fairly sure it's illegal to kill off Simon. But then I don't know what he will sacrifice. I just can't wait until I find out. It's killing me.

5. ONE SHIP WON'T COME BACK!! What?! No. Just no. Does she mean that one of them dies? Or that the ship wot get back together? Because that really only means Malec and I've already addressed that. Unless it's a Sebastion ship. Because I'd be happy is Sebastion died.

6. I also read a twitter response photo thingy (whatever). The question was; "what would Sebastion look like if he wasn't part demon?" And Cassandra Clare replied with "you'll find out." YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO US CASSANDRA! You can't lead us on like that. And that leads me to think that if we see Sebastion without the demon part of him, will he become a good guy? And will I change my opinion on him dying? Will he be someone to die? I JUST DON'T KNOW!

7. We will meet characters from TDA. This I'm not really anticipating as much as some of the others but I'm still excited to see what she does with it. And since  TDA is set between TID and TMI, does that mean some of the characters are immortal? Will there be another warlock?! WILL THERE BE POTENTIAL ROMANTIC INTERESTS FOR MAGNUS, SIMON AND (maybe, depending in the Jem situation) TESSA?!?!

8. And I think Sebastian has (or gets) a girlfriend. Or at least he gets to kiss someone... I think..

But I think that's enough for today. I've had my fangirl. I can't wait to read it. I'm not going to have a social like for the next few days. Fun. :) Anyway.

Happy Reviewsday Tuesday.

P.S. Due to my obsession with this book. I may not be able to post as regularly because I'll be too busy reading. I'll probably haven't finished soon-ish though so yeah.

And I realised I used abbreviations a few times.

In order of appearance;
CoHF- City of Heavenly Fire
TMI- The Mortal Instruments
TID- The Infernal Devices
TDA- The Dark Artifices
TLH- The Last Hour
Malec- Magnus and Alec ship name
CoLS- City if Lost Souls.

Mid-Year Crisis

There's nothing worse than riding the bus home and realising you haven't done your weekly blog post...

Well there are worse things but yeah. First off, I'm sorry. Second of all, I'm not really that sorry. I've had  lot on my mind lately I've had exams and friend stuff and I have a Maths enrichment program on a Tuesday night (last night). And to top it all off, the icing on the cake, I'm in a musical which is being performed in less than four weeks. This time, in four weeks time, we will be half an hour into our second show. To say I'm freaking out is an understatement.

I've also been distracted by Tumblr, Pintrest and talking to to mah bestie. But I'm using the other ones as my excuse.

Overall, I'm just a little but stressed at the moment. My life's getting pretty interesting at the moment and unfortunately, blogging seems to pop into my mind at the wrong times (studying just before an exam for example.) So, I'm sorry, blogging may be a bit slow for a while but I'll try to post when I can.

GOOD NEWS TIME!
1. TMI comes out next week!!! I'm excited. I'm ready. I'm waiting.
2. I know it's still a little while away, a friend and I have planned to go see TFiOS opening weekend. We can't go see it Friday because we have an excursion but I'm staying at her place and planning to see it on Saturday
3. I TOPPED MY CLASS IN MY HALF YEARLY EXAM!!! I don't like to brag about it at school but this is the Internet so whatever. I'm so happy! I worked really hard for this and I've come second or third to different people on the topic tests but I pulled though this time. 97%!!! I'm really proud of myself.

But there's my excuses and round up for the week. Have a good week guys.

Happy Wednesday.

3 reasons to love Kindle.

My little end of week present to you. :)

That was random...

I love reading. I read all the time and I love nothing better than curling on my bed with a hot chocolate, reading a good book. And I love reading a real, paper, book. But I also own a Kindle. And I love it too.

There are definitely downsides to Kindles. They don't have the same smell and feel of a book. (That sounded creepy.) Or that I don't have a visual representation of all the books I've read. Or the feeling of carrying a thick novel around in in your arm. And the fact that they're electronic, that can always pose problems. But there's definitely an upside as well.

1. I catch a bus to school everyday for about and hour up and back, and I read on the bus. I'm currently re-reading the Harry Potter series and, let me tell you, trying to pack The Goblet of Fire (which I'm currently reading.) into a backpack with all my other books and lunch and stuff, it's not fun. A kindle's a lot easier, especially reading a book that you don't want to be judged on (If you're self-conscience, like me.), no one can see what you're reading. Being able to read on my iPod while on the go is also awesome.

2. In my family, we like reading. We all read. Even Dad. And my Mum's an infants teacher and my sister and I are obsessed with reading and my other sister, well, we tend not to mention her. But she reads a bit. So In my house, we have a lot of books. Three bookcases full. One double stacked. My desk is covered in books and we generally have a lot of books in our house. So having Kindles ( my sister and I have one each.) is a big help in the problem of over stocking books.

3. It's cheaper. It's simple and makes me sound like a cheap skate. But it's true. I saved 60% on a book that isn't even out yet. To buy the book, it would've been around $25, the average price for a novel. I paid $10. I saw the price and refreshed the page over and over, not believing that it could be true. I sent a photo to my friend who is also awaiting the release of the book and she was over the moon. (Mainly because she knows that she can get it off me.) The book, City of Heavenly Fire, has been so greatly anticipated, I expected it to be crazily over priced with people trying to make the most of fans pre-ordering. So I was happily surprised. There's also heaps of freebies that aren't that bad but I think you get my point of they're cheaper.

As John Green once said, "I don't care how you read, as long as you are reading." (Or something like that.) That's something I strongly agree with. Reading a good book is amazing no matter how you read it. So if you've been thinking about getting a Kindle but are sceptical or a purist about books, try it? You can get them pretty cheaply (I did a quick search, around $70) and they're amazing.

Happy Friday.

Reviewsday Tuesday: The Mortal Instruments

I felt like I needed to do a non John Green related review. And I have a lot to say about these series.

I just want to address something quickly. There have been rumours going around that Cassandra Clare, author of the Mortal Instruments series, plagiarised ideas for her best selling novels. Now, from my information, if she was basing it off anything, it was a Harry Potter fan fiction SHE wrote. I don't want to hear your opinion on the matter, Sorry. I just wanted to address that I know that this has been going around and I don't want to hear people hating the books because of it, because I love them. Now, back to the review.

I love this series, I just pre-ordered the next book which comes out in a couple of weeks. (I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!) And it was only $10 to pre-order on Kindle. BOOYEAH!

I have fallen in love with the Shadowhunter world and all the characters in it. In the coming weeks I'm going to be rehashing everything that happened in the series before I read the last one. Because ITS THE LAST ONE!

But there's going to be three more series so it's okay. ;)

There's just something about this series that makes me want to come back for more. It may be the fact that I've always had a love of fantasy and this series bring the fantasy into the real world. Or the fact that it has (in my opinion) that perfect balance of action and romance. Or that it's filled with plot twists and the fact that it blends so well with 'The Infernal Devices'.*

The series is going to be six books, although it can be split into two trilogies pretty easily. Although I don't recommend reading the second half first or anything.

Overall, a brilliant series. I'd definitely recommend it.

Happy Reviewsday Tuesday.

*Seperate review to be done later

So... Hi Poland

When I started this blog, never in a million years did I think I'd become known or read by anyone but me. And I'm not saying that I'm famous or well-known or anything. Pfft, yeah right. I'm far from it. But I was just checking my stats and this happened.

I figured that there would be more Australians because most of them are probably me... But anywhere else? And POLAND! That I never expected. Countries other than Australia in general, I never expected.

I have been watching my page views go up steadily and I'm now around the 350 mark, and that's incredible. I was ECSTATIC when I reached 50. So when I reached 100, 200, 300. I was dancing around my room.

I love the idea of being able to share part of me with you. I want to make a difference in the world and although everyone says each person can make a difference, and I believe that. I also believe that you're stronger with friends around you. (And most of this I learnt from Harry Potter...)

But now I sound like someone who wants to dictate the world. Which I certainly do NOT!

Basically what I wanted to say is a big THANK YOU!!! To every single person who reads this little patch one the Internet that I call my own. And I appreciate every page view I get and you comments mean the world to me, literally. When I check my laptop and I have a comment, I get so excited knowing that it's not just me, checking the blog that stacks up those page views.

So PLEASE comment below, and maybe what country you're from. Especially if you're from Poland, I'd really love to talk to you.

Anyway, Love you all.

Happy Friday.

Wednesday 7 May 2014

I'm not good at this.

So I was just about to go to sleep an I remember a certain something that was supposed to be uploaded on Tuesday.

AND I DIDN'T!

I'm so sorry. I have a maths enrichment course on a Tuesday night once a fortnight. So I got home late after that and it honestly, just slipped my mind. Then I had an art excursion today so I got back late and I'm tired and sore and have a headache so yeah.

Sorry about missing it. I have exams next week so that could be an issue but I'll try.

Happy Wednesday.

P.S. Both the maths enrichment program and excursion today were great. Might do a post on them later this week. Hmm...

Amigurumi

My most recent hobby at the moment...

Definition of amigurumi: Amigurumi is the Japanese trend of knitting or crocheting stuffed animals and dolls. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning soft toy.

I like crafts. Sewing, knitting, paper crafts, pretty much anything. But I have never crocheted, I've just never tried. But I saw these little pokemon crafts and I REALLY wanted them. And because I can't buy stuff, I usually try to make it. So I found a pattern and what do I find, they're crochet...

So, yesterday, that was my project, learning how to crochet and do a magic ring (that was not fun) and other stuff. My mum had a crocheting hook and we have heaps of wool lying around the house so I was set. Today I'm hoping to (at least) start on one of the little pokemon. But I'll keep you posted, wish me luck. :)

Happy Sunday.

P.S. Isn't this little guy just so perfect! :P
